New West began as a Mars Volta cover band in a basement in West Philly, but has since evolved, musically.
Recording in Brooklyn, but still based in Philadelphia, New West draws on vintage-soul sounds, blended through increasingly electronic templates while maintaining rock roots.
Chris Zurich, the founding member, feeds the music with a unique worldview, where clashing cultures mix as one.
